Uncle Jang that has a rather weird sign-a smiling bald uncle. The sign and restaurant name do not explain much but we found out later that they actually serve dak galbi-a popular south korean dish especially for students who are on a low meal budget. In addition, this is the first branch which opened in SOHO KL.Different with other korea food, the restaurant serve us a recipe according to our needs.Inside,we will see the big pan which put in the middle of the table, and it is the place when they cook the recipe for us.

This is the menu of Uncle Jangit has many choices .After we discussed ,we decided order the popular south korean dish-Dalk-Galbi.

A huge gas-powered pan heater sits on every table.

A big frying pan being set up for preparing the Dak Galbi, now you could now see the relative size with the staff behind it.

Free ice water and tissues – these will come handy later.

This is what we ordered.

We just need to sit back and relax and watch the frying process, it takes about 10-20 minutes.

At this point the Dak Galbi is cooked and ready to eat, smells good.

Liew Zhan Min

First of all, I would like to introduce the name of the restaurant that we had planned to eat which is Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant. It is located at Puchong, Bandar Puteri. Before we started our journey, we decided car pool to there. We took 10mins to 15mins to reach there and we departed at 7.30pm from Sunway College University. When we arrived Bandar Puteri, of course we would find a parking which nearby to the restaurant because we are slothful to walk a long street way to the restaurant. After our driver, Irwin had parked his car, we pleasantly heading to the restaurant and impatiently to have a flavorsome Korean food. However, we saw there is double storey house which consisted two differently restaurant before we entry. When we look up, we saw a big signboard in our vision which it stated Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant. It existed at the second flood. We started our footsteps torward to the staircase and enter the restaurant. In the condition of after I had entered to the restaurant, I had a shock that it smell was very fragrantly in the environment. I keep imagine that how were the food made by the ingredient because it really appetizing. Besides that, while we are waiting for the sits, I am observing the crowd eating in the restaurant and assuming whether they are either enjoyable or unpleasantly to eat the Korean food. The observation that I had conclude is they are really delighted to eat the Korean food and the food seems like very tasty and it appealed me to eat. After a few minutes, the waiter reserved a sits to for us. Before I sits, I noted that there have a red apron hanging on each of our chairs and a huge black iron pan on the table. It seems like barbecue, but it is not barbecue, it is a traditional cooking in Korean. We took a look to the menu and it listed RM22 per person for “Hot and Spicy” and RM19 per person for “Normal plate”. Before we order our meal, Irwin asked us that which sets do we prefer? He mentioned to me that the food probably will very spicy as I am not interest in eating spicy food person. Meanwhile, He told me that I am curiosity in eating many plates of dishes person, then he help us order 4person in 1 sets of Dak Galbi-a , which is a very famous food in Korean .About 10mins, a stainless steel trolley was delivering toward to us with a plain ingredient. After that, the waiter mixed the all the ingredient in the black iron pan and fried it, seems like frying fried rice and fried noodles. However, the ingredient had mixed in the black iron pan such as cabbages, garlic cloves, onion, mushroom, small sweet potato and others Korean ingredient which I am unheard before. After the waiter mixed, they pour a small bowl of sauce which mixed up with soy sauce, red pepper powder, honey powder, rice wine, ketchup and others. They fried it and the smell coming up from the iron pan. The smell is very appetizing indeed and I am start drooling when I smelled the fragrance. A few minutes ago, it changed to brownish colour. The waiter gave us a chops stick and a white small plate to each person of us. Meanwhile, he provide aluminum cup to each of us as we prefer to drink plain water. Before we start our meal, we should wear red apron to avoid the sauces stick on our dresses. I thought our main dishes were completely served to us. Suddenly, the waiter added some noodles in to our iron pan. I desired to eat more because the fried noodles really look very delicious. During we are enjoying the food, Kar Jun suggested us that we should capture a personal picture. At the same time, we act smiley face and smart face before the camera capture us .Meanwhile, we continue our meal. While I was eating, I start sweating because the environment of the place was very stuffy as all windows are closed. We had finished our meal, I thought we got to pay the bill and back to home. But Eugene said he is not satisfied enough, he wanted to order fried rice for himself. We waved our hand and called the waiter come and order the fried rice for Eugene. The service was quite long, the waiter spent 15mins to deliver the ingredients out for us. The waiter fried the rice and the ingredients on the black iron pan and the way of he frying the rice is seems like method of frying Dak Galbi-a. After the rice had become brownish colour. Eugene munched on his bowl of fried rice. After that, Eugene had finished his meal. We walked to the counter and then pay the bill.Lastly, Irwin fetch Eugene back to his house first because Eugene’s house is nearby to Puchong area. After that, He fetched me and Kar Jun toward to Sunway College University. On the way toward to Sunway College University, he dropped down Kar Jun at the Sun-U Residence apartment as Kar Jun is living at there. And me, he dropped me at Sunway College University.I was very happy that I have an opportunity to eat Korea food at Korean Restaurant because that is very small chances to have it nowadays as I am very busy in doing assignment, homework and other outdoors activities. Most of my days are either my parents cooked for me or eating with my friends in the nearest food courts and local restaurant. Thus, I will appreciate the day that I can get into the Korean Restaurant to have a Korean meal. When I am on the way going back home of that day, I was recalled back our happiness dinner, I start smiling. Although the service is slow, that day was a great memory for me.

TAI YEK YAN (EUGENE)

The restaurant which suggested by Irwin was at second floor, located at Bandar Puteri. Once I came in the restaurant, I saw many people were eating, it obviously proved that it is very nice, moreover the owner of this restaurant is a Korean, I believe he will carry out the taste that what Korean food should have, I was so excited to try their food ''Dalk-galbi'' and before that, I left my stomach empty, so I was so hungry. After few minutes of waiting, we finally had our seats, a table with a big frying on it, looks like it was so interesting. We waited them to serve us for few minutes, cleaning the frying every changes of customers frying the food for them and serving.......I wonder if they wanted to hire more workers? Finally, they came to serve us, Irwin suggested us to order spicy ''Dalk-galbi'', but since it was finished, we had no choice but ordered a normal ''Dalk-galbi''. They brought fresh chicken chop, cabbage, rice cake and sweet potato, then fry them on our table's frying pan, the smell was so nice, and now I understand why they provide apron for us, it's to prevent our shirts get dirty when they are frying.  Once the food was cooked, we immediately picked up our chopsticks and started eating, the food was very nice, it was little spicy. The vegetables were fresh and with their special made sauce, it reminded me of Kimchi. Rice cake was elastic, and we just ordered quantity of 2 person because rice cake is very easily get full to eat. When we almost finished our food, I realised that I didn't feel full and I decided to order other food, after few minutes of thinking, I decided to order ''Fried rice sari''. After finishing the food I regretted to order the fried rice because by the time we finished the food, I felt so full, and the fried rice hadn't come yet, how should I finish it? Luckily my friends helped me to eat a litttle fried rice so that I could finish it without wasting the food. This was a very satisfying meal, I love their food, and I wanted to try their HOT SPICY ''Dalk-galbi'', we decided to plan for next time.
